Frequently Asked Questions

Where does CBD Oil comes from?

Cannabinoid (CBD) is a substance found in cannabis plants. It is rich in medical benefits and is widely known to deal with certain medical conditions.

Cannabis Plant has two (2) species:

  • Marijuana
  • Hemp

They may look the same but they are completely different when it comes to the CBD and THC that they possess.

HEMP offers all the medicinal benefits and effects WITHOUT GETTING HIGH. It contains high level of CBD and low level of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which is barely traceable at 0.03%.

People often think that Hempworx CBD Oil is a drug because it comes from cannabis plants which is NOT TRUE! Hempworx CBD Oil is non-psychoactive which means it will not make you high. And you can also access this anytime because it is LEGAL and no prescription is required.

Marijuana on the other hand is the one you should avoid because it contains high levels of THC. Which is not good for the body because it gives you the HIGH and it only contains low quantity of CBD.

THC - Gives you the "HIGH" feeling

CBD - Gives you the Medical Benefits

What exactly is CBD Oil?

Simply put, cannabis oil is the concentrated liquid extract of the marijuana plant, Cannabis sativa.

Similar to other herbal extracts, the chemicals in cannabis oil vary depending on how the extract is made and what chemicals were in the plant to begin with.

Cannabis plants produce thousands of compounds but the most well recognized belong to a class called cannabinoids. There are several cannabinoids but the two that are most well-known among consumers are  Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD) .

THC is the primary psychoactive compound in marijuana. It is what people are searching for when they want a product that will make them "high." Unlike THC, CBD isn't known to cause psychoactive effecte. And is therefore attractive to those who want to avoid getting high but believes there are other benefits of CBD, said Sara Ward, a pharmacologist at Temple University in Philadelphia.

How to use CBD Oil?

The physiological effects of cannabinoids can vary widely from person to person, and also depend on how they're consumed. That lack of predictability is one of the reasons why cannabis oil is a challenging candidate for developing into a medicine, Ward told Live Science.

"Two people may eat a brownie [made with cannabis oil] and one may absorb massive amounts of cannabinoids and the other may not," Ward said. "How long it takes to work and how long it stays in the system differs greatly."

It's a little more uniform when the product is absorbed by smoking or vaping the oil, Ward said. But, "there are obvious concerns about smoking something." A 2007 review published in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine found that smoking marijuana resulted in similar declines in respiratory system health as smoking tobacco. A similar review published in 2014 in The American Journal of Cardiology found that marijuana smoke inhalation can increase the chances of heart attack or stroke. Neither review analyzed the effects of vaping cannabis oil alone, so it's unclear if it has the same health risks as smoking other marijuana products.

How much CBD Oil dose should I take?

Each dropper contains 10-15mg of CBD. You can control your serving size by squeezing the right amount into the dropper.  This information is purely a guidance and does not replace your medication or doctor prescriptions.

This information is really just a starting point of reference.  Everyone is different and will react differently to their CBD serving.  As tolerance of CBD is different for everyone, it is best to start small and gradually increase until you experience the desired result.

1 Full Dropper= 1 Serving
1 Serving = 10-15mg of CBD (depending on whether you have a 500mg or 750mg bottle)
Maximum Recommended Serving = 20-30mg daily (full dropper twice a day)

How should I use my CBD Oil?

It is really recommended that you start slow with the oil and gradually increase your dosage over a 3-4 week period. Start with 5 drops (1/4 of a dropper) twice a day for the first week.  On week 2-3 you can go up to 10 drops twice a day.  By week 4 you can go to 20 drops (full dropper) twice a day to get the full 20-30mg of CBD daily.

Experiment a little and see what works best for you.
It is also recommended that you consult with your doctor for serving suggestions.

Did FDA really shut down CBD companies?

No, it is not entirely true. The FDA did warn companies marketing CBD products not to make any claims about thte use of CBD to prevent diseases. This is because the FDA did not approve CBD or other cannabinoid as medical treatment and does not currently regard it has having a medicinal benefits.

However, Hempworx is not among those companies warned by FDA. As the leader of the industry, Hempworx make it a point to remain conservatively compliant with all the FDA's guidelines.

We never make claims about benefits of our products. But instead, we encourage our customers to do their own research and discuss their concerns with professionals or their doctors before starting to take new dietary supplement. Specially products from Hempworx's.

What exactly is the difference between Marijuana and Hemp?

We will break it down into three (3) categories so you will have a better understanding between the two types of cannabis plants.

Marijuana looks contrastingly different from hemp. When you observe their leaves, marijuana’s shape tends to either be broad leafed, a tight bud, or look like a nugget with organd hairs.  Hemp, on the other hand, has skinnier leaves that’s concentrated at the top. Few branches or leaves exist below the top part of the plant. When you observe the plants from afar, marijuana looks like a short fat bush. Hemp is typically skinnier and taller (up to 20 ft). At times, it almost looks like long ditchweed – hemp was actually found to grow among weeds in Nebraska. In general, when you compare a marijuana farm with those of industrial hemp, you’ll notice that they are clearly very different from one another.

Chemical Makeup

The main difference between the two is in its chemical composition, specifically in tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is the chemical responsible marijuana’s psychological effects. An average batch of marijuana contains anywhere from 5-20% THC content. Some premium marijuana can have up to 25-30% THC. Hemp, on the other hand, has a max THC level of 0.3%, essentially making it impossible to feel any psychoactive effect or get a “high”. This threshold is heavily regulated in other countries that have legalized hemp.Hemp also has high cannabidiol (CBD) content that acts as THC’s antagonist, essentially making the minimal amount of THC useless.

Cultivation Environment

The environment in which hemp and marijuana are grown is strikingly different. Hemp is grown closely together (as close as 4 inches apart) and are typically grown in large multi-acre plots. It can also grow in variety of climates and its growth cycle is 108-120 days. Unlike hemp, marijuana requires a carefully controlled, warm, and humid atmostphere for proper growth. Its growth cycle only 60-90 days. Medical cannabis also cannot be grown too close to each other. They are typically grown 6 feet apart. If, somehow, marijuana grows among (or close to) a hemp field, the hemp’s pollen would immediateately ruin the marijuana crop, diluting marijuana’s psychoactivity.

Are hemp derived cannabinoids such as CBD as great as CBD from cannabis?

To make it short, YES! CBD is CBD, whether from marijuana or hemp. The majority of marijuana has an extremely low non-psychoactive cannabinoid profile (like CBD, CBC, CBG). So the majority of the time, hemp would be far more preferable for anything besides THC.

Cannabis is usually extremely high in THC (provides high feling to people) but typically very low in other non-psychoactive cannabinoids. Nowadays in the USA, lots of farmers are growing industrial hemp flowers that are just as beautiful, odor-producing, and terpene rich as the very best marijuana pressures, such as our partnered farmers in Colorado/Kentucky.

What's the portion of cannabinoids and CBD in your products?

All of Hempworx CBD products have high purity level. If you are to buy one of our products, let's say the herbal drops, there's anywhere from 500 - 750mg. If you're buying our CBD skincare products, we are putting just the right amount of CBD together with some other powerful anti-aging ingredients to give you the best possible results together with the healing properties our products' possess.

Is a standard hemp seed oil contains the same high-CBD hemp extract?

The answer is NO. Standard hemp oil, which can be found cheap at a supermarket, is a much preferred product than our CO2 hemp extracts (not from seeds). Basic hemp oil is produced by cold pressing the seeds, whereas our hemp extract is a subcritical CO2 extraction of the hemp plant itself.

Hemp seed oil is known to be a good source of nutrition when used for food. However, it does not have the naturally occurring terpenes, cannabinoids and other parts that our extracts have.

What kind of tests are performed on your products?

All of Hempworx's products are manufactured in a FDA registered, FDA food registered, FDA approved, CGMP certified, and cruelty free facility. We undergo extensive stability testing and can provide certificates for such tests.

What is CO2 extraction? What's the difference between subcritical and supercritical CO2 extractions?

CO2 extraction is an extraction procedure that uses pressurized co2 to extract phyto-chemicals (such as CBD, CBG, or terpenes, flavonoids, etc.) from a plant. CO2 at specific temperatures and pressures acts like a solvent, without the threats of really being one. It is the most expensive extraction method, and is commonly considered the most reliable and safest plant extraction technique in the world. Lots of hemp and CBD companies boast about their supercritical CO2 extractions, however that's actually just one (and perhaps an inferior) approach of using a CO2 extraction machine.

There are also subcritical CO2 extractions, and 'mid-critical', a basic range between subcritical and supercritical. Subcritical (low temperature, low pressure) CO2 extractions take more time and produce smaller sized yields than super-critical, however they retain the important oils, terpenes, and other sensitive chemicals within the plant.

Supercritical, on the other hand, is a high pressure and heat procedure that harms most terpenes and heat sensitive chemicals, but can extract much bigger molecules such as lipids (omega 3 and 6), chlorophyll, and waxes. A genuinely full-spectrum CO2 extract consists of very first performing a subcritical extraction, separating the drawn out oil, and after that drawing out the very same plant material using supercritical pressure, then homogenizing both oil extracts into one. In the vital oil industrym an extract used this specific process is described as a CO2 Total.

What is the endocannabinoid system (ECS)?

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a group of endogenous cannabinoid receptors located in the mammalian brain and throughout the main and peripheral worried systems, including neuromodulatory lipids and their receptors. " Wikipedia. There are 2 primary kinds of receptors in the  ECS, CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are mainly found in the main nervous system and brains of mammals, and CB2 are normally found in the peripheral anxious system.

There are two main cannabinoids mammals produce - 2AG and Anandamide (called after the Sanskrit term "ananda" which translates to "peace"). For hundereds of millions of years every vertebrate on Earth has actually been equipped with this ECS, a vital system in the body, and it has been learnt about in the clinical and medical communities since the 1980's.

Nevertheless, it's still not taught about in most medical schools.

Does CBD and other natural content of Hempworx products show up on a drug test?

If you are worrying about passing a drug test while using hempworx products. Rest assured that you will pass the test with no problem. CBD is usually undetectable in saliva or urine tests, though there is still a slight chance to have remains or small traces of THC that may be detected.

All of hempworx products comply with regulations regarding minimal THC content, and our full-spectrum hemp oil contains less than 0.3% of THC by volume, as required by the law. However, we recommend you using our new THC FREE product which is completely ZERO THC, you won't have to worry about having the trace of THC on your body when undergoing drug tests.

Is this legal?

Hempworx CBD Oil is 100% legal in all 50 states. Under the 2014 Farm Bill, CBD derived from Hemp Seed Oil that has less than 0.3% THC by dry weight is legal. Our products complied to this guidelines so don't be afraid of using this products, you won't put yourself at risk by doing so.

Why is a full spectrum plant superior to CBD isolate?

The thing is with out experience, a full expectrum plant gives the endocannabinoid system (ECS) the full cannabinoid profile of CBD, CBG, CBC, CBN, in order to substantiate the health claims. We have over 120 cannabinoids in our CBD formulas which perfectly inhibits the CB2 receptors in the body.

Other competitors claim to have a 99% purity which is usually in the form of "Isolate" or an "Extract". Although the purity level is higher, the body is only receiving CBD, not the full cannabinoid profile. CBD Isolate is cheaper to manufacture, and when CBD is isolated, those products lose its effectiveness in a shorter period of time.
